Weekly News
The past few weeks we've been continuing our studies with each letter of the alphabet. Just before Easter vacation we reviewed all the letters we've worked on so far this year. This week we are focusing on the letter Uu. Your child has practiced writing all the letters, so please continue to practice writing them at home.
We are also focusing on Community Helpers and different careers in the community. We will be inviting our parents into the classroom for Career Day on April 25th to share what we've learned. Our children (PreK-4) have shown great interest in the following careers: doctor, dentist, teacher, veterinarian, firefighter, police officer. PreK-3 has chosen to learn more about gardening and being a restaurant owner. We've had a few guest speakers come in and teach the students about their career and they absolutely love it! We've been fortunate enough to have these professionals come in from the St. Anthony community and share their career with our children.
For the month of April we will be learning about the life cycles of a chick and a frog. We will be watching them transform in the classroom, so we're all super excited about that too! We will be planting carrots and watching them grow using a grow lamp, and watching them transform as well.
REMINDER
Colds and illness are a common occurrence in schools. Please notify teachers if your child has been exposed to a communicable disease. If a child has a fever above 100 degrees, they are not allowed in school until they have been fever free for at least 24 hours. If antibiotics are required, they must wait 48 hours before returning to school. As a courtesy to other children and parents, please keep ill children at home so they may rest and fully recover.
Please remember to continue to follow our schools dress code. All sweaters/ sweatshirts must be school bought or solid blue with no writing. All shoes must be school approved (no lights). On PE days students may wear sneakers. On regular school days all shoes must be black, brown, or navy ONLY.
